Tally Prime Server

Tally Prime
TallyPrime Server is an enterprise-class data server from Tally Solutions that sits on top of a TallyPrime Gold licence. TallyPrime Server uses a client-server data architecture to give medium and large businesses higher concurrency, secured data file access, minimal downtime and centralised monitoring of user sessions. TallyPrime Server is priced at Rs 2,70,000 plus 18% GST and requires an existing TallyPrime Gold licence to operate. Initiator Solutions supplies TallyPrime Server with a 10-day trial, installation, server configuration, data migration and ongoing support.

What Is TallyPrime Server ?

TallyPrime Server is a data server layer that changes how TallyPrime stores and serves company data. In a standard TallyPrime Gold setup, every client machine reads and writes directly to a shared folder. Under load, that shared folder becomes the bottleneck.
TallyPrime Server replaces that model with true client-server architecture. Clients talk to a server service, not to a file path. The server manages every read, write, lock and backup request centrally.
This is why it is positioned as an enterprise product. It is not a feature upgrade. It is an infrastructure change for businesses that have outgrown shared-folder accounting.

Key Benefits of TallyPrime Server

 High Concurrency

Many users can load companies, save vouchers, print, export, import and run backups at the same time without waiting on each other. Data stays real-time, consistent and accurate no matter how many people are working.

 Secure Data Access

Client machines never need the data folder location. Users connect using the server name alone. Backup, restore and other data operations require server-level authorization, so no one can copy the company folder off a shared drive.

 Zero-Downtime Reliability

Backups run while users keep working. If one client machine fails, the problem stays on that machine — server data and other users are unaffected.

Centralized Monitoring and Control

An administrator can see who is logged in, what each session is doing, and disconnect any user when needed. This gives you real visibility into system usage.
